THE ARTS ARENA
The Arts Arena in Delray Beach, Florida isn't just another gallery; it is much more! We are a working Artists Cooperative, that I originally founded last in 1996 which was also on Atlantic Avenue. We have been at our current location for over three years. We've been going strong for those three plus years and the future looks bright. We are now thriving with between twelve and fifteen working Artists studios and two visiting display Artists every month. The concept of an active creative place is unique in Delray and modeled after the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria Va., which I visited many years ago when I started building my DREAM. Needless to say ours is a very small model. Our Artists are multi talented and very diverse, we have painters in every medium and style, a collage artist, ceramic sculpture and pots, hand painted scarves and simply beautiful hand crafted jewelry, as well as beautiful photography. We welcome new talent and are receptive to all applicants for jurying. The last three plus years have been most rewarding, and we expect to sustain the quality of art we've established. Our business philosophy enables the client to buy directly from the Artist with no Gallery mark up. We are able to sell at reasonable prices because it is a system that is fair and reasonable for really fine work. Come visit us and watch our Artists do their thing. Delray Beach's The Arts Arena is unique among all other Atlantic Avenue galleries. It's a "no middleman, no markup" working artists co-op that showcases the work of top professionals in a stunning array of media ranging from painting, photography, sculpture and collage to ceramics, lucite stained glass and handmade gold and silver jewelry.
Staffed by the actual artists whose work is on display, The Arts Arena gives you the chance to see how a clump of clay becomes a rose; how fine metals and gemstones are shaped into wearable art; how acrylic or watercolor paint can capture a sunset; how artists actually create. The Arts Arena lets you see, talk with and meet the artists whose work you'll want to collect.
Special Invitation to join us
Every third Friday evening of the month, The Arts Arena hosts Guest Artist Receptions, complete with refreshments and music. The exhibiting artist is on the premises to discuss and explain their work from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Arts Arena also offers one-day workshops that allow you to discover or perfect your talent to create in a variety of media.
The Arts Arena is the brainchild of Carole Evans Williams, who opened an artist cooperative in 1995 on Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach, Florida. The Arts Arena consists of artist, jewelers and potters who have banded to form a working artist' cooperative and art gallery.
Our Mission
The mission of The Arts Arena is to offer an alternative to the traditional art gallery venue. The desire is to have the artist work on various projects at the site, painting, making jewelry, etc., letting visitors see works in progress, meet and question artist and then to market those works directly to the public, thereby allowing reasonable prices for fine art.
